OUTLINE OF AN EXPERIMENTAL POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM BEING IMPLEMENTED IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.
Abstract
THE EMERGENCY COMMAND CONTROL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM WILL INCLUDE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCHING, AUTOMATED DIVISION HEADQUARTERS, AN EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER, A MOBILE COMMAND CENTER, AND AUTOMATIC VEHICLE MONITORING. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE SYSTEM INCLUDE FASTER RESPONSES TO CITIZENS' CALLS FOR SERVICE, BETTER MANAGEMENT OF FIELD FORCES, COMMAND AND CONTROL DURING UNUSUAL OCCURRENCES, GREATER SAFETY TO FIELD PERSONNEL, RELIEF OF FREQUENCY CONGESTION, AND SECURITY AND ACCURACY OF COMMUNICATIONS.
