THIS WORKSHOP SERIES ON ADOLESCENT SEXUALITY WAS SPONSORED IN 1979 BY THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES AND THE CONNECTICUT JUSTICE FOR CHILDREN COLLABORATION.
Abstract
THE WORKSHOP SERIES WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY A GRANT FROM THE LEAA TO THE CONNECTICUT JUSTICE COMMISSION. FOUR WORKSHOPS WERE DESIGNED TO DELINEATE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED BY FAMILIES WITH YOUTH WHO EXHIBIT SEXUALLY ACTING OUT BEHAVIOR, ARE INVOLVED IN INCESTUOUS RELATIONSHIPS, AND/OR HAVE ENTERED INTO PROSTITUTION, DEVELOP THE CAPACITY OF SERVICE PROVIDES IN WORKING WITH THESE YOUTH; AND FACILITATE RESOURCE AND INFORMATION SHARING AMONG WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS. TOPICS OF THE WORKSHOPS WERE ADOLESCENT SEXUALITY, INCEST, AND JUVENILE PROSTITUTION. PROCEEDINGS OF EACH WORKSHOP ARE PRESENTED SEPARATELY AND ARE COLOR CODED FOR EASY REFERENCE. THE KEYNOTE ADDRESS OF WORKSHOPS IS PRESENTED, ALONG WITH A SUMMARIZATION OF ISSUES REGARDING WHAT IS KNOWN AND WHAT CAN BE DONE AND RESOURCES USED DURING WORKSHOPS OR THAT WERE IDENTIFIED AS RELEVANT TO FAMILIES WITH SERVICE NEEDS.
