Abstract
AN INTERNATIONAL GROUP OF FIFTY-FOUR EXPERTS IN YOUTH, COMMUNITY SERVICES, EDUCATION, LEGISLATION, COURTS, POLICE, CORRECTIONS, CRIMINOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY, AND A GROUP OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE SEMINAR. TOPICS ADDRESSED INCLUDE YOUTH IN SOCIETY; CORRECTIONAL PROGRAMS, ATTITUDE CHANGE AND SOCIAL ROLE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS IN DELINQUENCY PREVENTION; WEAKENING OF FAMILY UNIT CONTROLS; AND THE INCREASED RELIANCE ON SOCIAL CONTROL BUILT BY THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. OPTIONAL DISCUSSION GROUPS ON THE ABOVE TOPICS AND AN OPEN FORUM ARE BRIEFLY DESCRIBED.
