Abstract
These Web pages, maintained by the National Institute of Justice, contain the proceedings from the workshop Teen Dating Violence: Developing a Research Agenda to Meet Practice Needs held on December 5-7, 2007, in Crystal City, VA. The workshop was convened to bring together individuals and organizations with an interest in preventing teen dating violence (TDV). The varying topics covered during the workshop allowed participants the opportunity to closely examine teen relationships relative to dating violence. The agenda for the workshop was as follows: Summary of Recent Federal TDV Activities; Frameworks for Understanding TDV - New Directions - Development and Relation of TDV to Bullying, Models, Including Typology Approaches, and Relationships Context Within Couples - Mutuality and Gender Issues; Breakout Sessions covering Assessment Challenges, Adolescent Development Issues, Dyads/Relationship Issues, and Contextual Influences; Programs Exemplifying Different Approaches to TDV Intervention - School-Based Approaches, Family Approaches, Community Approach, Multilevel Approach, and Justice Approach; and Breakout Sessions covering Couples and Family Interventions, Peer and School-Based Interventions, Criminal Justice Interventions, Community-Based, Multilevel Interventions, and Macrolevel Interventions.
