A STUDY IS PRESENTED ON THE MORE THAN 2,000 AMERICANS, MOST OF THEM CONVICTED CRIMINALS, WHO ARE LIVING UNDER SECRET IDENTITIES PROVIDED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE'S WITNESS RELOCATION PROGRAMS.
Abstract
THIS PROGRAM NOT ONLY SUPPLIES NEW IDENTITIES TO WITNESSES AND THEIR FAMILIES, BUT ALSO INFILTRATES THEM BACK INTO SOCIETY AS SHADOWY FIGURES, WITH NEW -- SUPPOSEDLY LEGITIMATE -- OCCUPATIONS IN COMMUNTIES FAR FROM THE SCENES OF THEIR CRIMES OR TESTIMONIES. THE STORY OF GERALD MARTIN ZELMANOWITZ, ALIAS PAUL MARIS, IS UNFOLDED, MIRRORING THE DECEPTIONS, AMBIGUITIES, AND FLAWS OF THE PROGRAM. CASES OF MURDERERS, RAPISTS, CON MEN, AND SWINDLERS COSSETED AND HIDDEN BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, ARE EXPOSED. THE TEXT REPRESENTS AN EXPOSE OF A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM, CONCEIVED IN DUPLICITY AND CONTEMPTUOUS OF CONGRESS, WHICH IS COSTING THE U.S. TAXPAYERS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR.
