Abstract
AMONG THE SPECIFIC ISSUES EXAMINED ARE SALARY CONSIDERATIONS FOR SMALL CITY POLICE CHIEFS, POSSIBLE PROBLEMS IN ADJUSTING TO SMALL-TOWN LIFE, POSSIBLE ADVERSE REACTIONS OF THE POLICE PERSONNEL, COMPATABILITY OF NEW CHIEF'S MANAGEMENT STYLE WITH EXISTING DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES, AND INADEQUATE SALARIES AND TRAINING OF THE POLICE PERSONNEL. CONDITIONS AND SITUATIONS TYPICAL OF THE SMALL CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE ALSO REVIEWED.
