Abstract
BROWARD, DADE, MONROE, AND PALM BEACH, COUNTIES UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE, WERE ASSEMBLED AS REGION SEVEN WITHIN THE STATE NETWORK OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE REGIONS. PARALLELING THE INTEREST IN CONSOLIDATING LOCAL PUBLIC AGENCIES DEALING WITH CRIME AND THE CRIMINAL IN FLORIDA, THE CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION IN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE BROWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE BEGAN DEVELOPING PLANS FOR A POLICE CENTER IN 1969. THE BROWARD COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE, EXPANDED FROM THE POLICE CENTER COMPLEMENTING THE EFFECTS OF THE TOTAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
