Abstract
IT IS OBSERVED THAT THE CURRENT POLICEWOMEN'S MOVEMENT MAINTAINS AN IDEOLOGICAL OBJECTIVE OF ASSIMILATION THROUGH MALE-CONFORMITY. AN ALTERNATIVE IDEOLOGY - ASSIMILATION THROUGH SOCIAL PLURALISM - IS PROPOSED IN THIS PAPER. IT IS THE AIM OF SOCIAL PLURALISM TO ASCRIBE SHARPLY DEFINED WOMEN POLICE ROLES THAT SUPPORT OTHER CULTURALLY ASCRIBED ROLES FOR THE FEMALE GROUP. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
